Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2025

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using TrustVault ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

TrustVault is a free file and note sharing service that allows users to store files and text notes in private vaults accessed via 3 keywords. Users can share files with others via temporary links without requiring anyone to create an account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use TrustVault to:

  • Upload, store, or share illegal content
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful software
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Store or share content involving child exploitation
  • Engage in spam, phishing, or social engineering attacks
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
  • Overload the Service through automated scripts or denial-of-service attacks

4. Content ownership

You retain full ownership of any content you upload or create on TrustVault. We do not claim any rights to your files or notes. We do not scan, index, or use your content for advertising or any other purpose.

5. Vault security

Your vault is protected by your 3-keyword combination. You are responsible for choosing unique, hard-to-guess keywords. TrustVault is not responsible for unauthorized vault access resulting from weak or shared keyword combinations. We do not offer account recovery since there are no accounts — if you forget your keywords, your vault cannot be recovered.

6. Service availability

TrustVault is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications to the Service at any time.

7. Data and file limits

Individual files are limited to 1 GB per upload. We reserve the right to impose additional storage limits or rate limits to maintain service quality for all users. Excessive usage that degrades the service for others may result in vault restrictions.

8. Content removal

We reserve the right to remove content or restrict vault access if we receive valid legal requests, detect violations of these terms, or need to protect the Service's integrity. We may also block vaults that are reported for abuse.

9. Limitation of liability

TrustVault and its operators are not liable for any data loss, damages, or issues arising from the use of the Service. You use TrustVault at your own risk. Always keep backups of important files elsewhere.

10. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
